The Brünlasberg is a 511 meter high hilltop in the Saxon part of the Western Ore Mountains . The mountain is the highest point in the Hohes Holz forest area , also known as Pfarrholz . In the north lies the Brünlasberg district of the large district town of Aue, named after the mountain . The development extends almost to the highest point. In the south, the Phyllit - Härtling is surrounded by the Zschorlaubach and then in the east by the Zwickauer Mulde . The raft ditch was led around the mountain a little higher at about 410 m .
The iron ore mines of Rauhs Glück und Trust in God were on the northeastern slope .
