Brachytheciastrum is a genus of moss from the Brachytheciaceae family .
features
Mosses of this genus are usually small, creeping to upright growing and branched plants with more or less smooth stem leaves. The species usually form antheridia and archegonia on different branches of the same plant ( autocial ).
Systematics and types
The species of the genus Brachytheciastrum were previously assigned to the genus Brachythecium . According to the Stech & Frey system, 11 species were transferred to Brachytheciastrum .
