Wolfgang Frey
Wolfgang Frey (born August 14, 1942 in Rechberghausen ) is a German botanist and university professor a. D. Its botanical author abbreviation is " W. Frey ".
Live and act
Frey studied botany , zoology and physiological chemistry at the University of Tübingen . From 1978 to 1981 he was professor of botany at the University of Giessen . Since 1981 he has been at the Institute for Systematic Botany and Plant Geography at the Free University of Berlin .
His main research interests are:
- Vegetation of the Middle East
- Geography, sociology, ecology and evolution of tropical rainforest mosses
- Structure, adaptation and life strategies in vegetation units (Central Europe)
- Diversity, adaptation and life strategies of the bryoflora of southern hemisphere temperate rainforests
