Bradley Roland Will

Bradley Roland "Brad" Will (* 1970 in Evanston , Illinois ; † October 27, 2006 in Oaxaca , Mexico ) was an American journalist , anarchist and indymedia activist.

Will grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and earned a BA in English from Allegheny College , Pennsylvania in 1992 .

While doing his job, he was killed in a gunfight in Oaxaca on Friday, October 27, 2006, when he was shot in the stomach. The shooting occurred when armed people tried to remove a roadblock put up by the Asamblea Popular de los Pueblos de Oaxaca (APPO) insurgents , who occupied Oaxaca for several months.

According to the rebels, these armed forces were sent to the city by the governor Ulises Ruiz Ortiz . The responsible public prosecutor said that it was residents who had defended themselves. US Ambassador Tony Garza said it could also have been police officers. Finally, photos of the perpetrators were circulated on the Internet and identified as police officers and city employees.
