Brandalm (Dient Mountains)

The Brandalm is an alpine pasture in the Salzachpongau in the state of Salzburg and belongs to the municipality of St. Johann im Pongau in the St. Johann (Pongau) district .

It is located directly below the Palfner Kogel (Schwarzkogel , 1413  m above sea level ) of the Dientner Mountains ( Salzburg Slate Alps ) at around 1110 to 1200  m above sea level. A. Height.

The Alm belongs to the Brand homestead , a village and cadastral community of Einöden . You can reach it on a supply road from Palfner Dörfl up via Birkstein .

The Alm is a small snack station. There is also a much-flown private airfield for paragliders / hang-gliders , which is operated by the flight school Austriafly Werfenweng . There is also a taxi shuttle service up from St. Johann.

In the alpine area there are also smaller iron deposits that were already mined in the High Middle Ages.
