Brandenburg Badminton Championship
Brandenburg badminton championships have been held since the 1990/1991 season. They emerged from the district championships in the former GDR districts of Cottbus, Potsdam and Frankfurt / Oder. With the country introduction, some strong regions of the former Cottbus district (Hoyerswerda, Weißwasser) went to Saxony. The title fights represented the third highest championship level in badminton in Germany and were the direct qualification for the North German badminton championships . With the merger of the two regional associations Berlin and Brandenburg on January 1, 2005, a new, joint Berlin-Brandenburg championship was brought into being.
