The 60th German Badminton Championships in 2012 took place from February 2nd to 5th, 2012 in Bielefeld . The venue was the Seidensticker Hall . For the first time, a live score was offered at a German championship, similar to the international tournaments .

Defending champions for the men were Marc Zwiebler in the singles, Ingo Kindervater and Johannes Schöttler in the doubles and in the women Juliane Schenk in the singles, Sandra Marinello and Birgit Michels in the doubles and Michael Fuchs and Birgit Michels in the mixed doubles. However, Juliane Schenk had to cancel her start at this year's championship for health reasons. Due to differences of opinion with the German Badminton Association, Carola Bott also canceled her start at this year's tournament.
