Carola Bott (born July 9, 1984 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German badminton player . In the 2011/2012 season she played in the 1st Bundesliga for BV Gifhorn .

Career

Carola Bott started playing badminton at BV Stockstadt in her home town. Her talent showed up early and at the age of seven she won her first tournament. At the German U-15 championships in 1999 she won the doubles title . She was able to repeat this success two years later in the U-17 class. In 2003 she won the gold medal with the German junior national team at the European Championships .

Bott first played for the Bundesliga club 1. BC Bischmisheim , but was only used there in the second team. For the 2006/07 season, they therefore moved to FC Langenfeld , where they, together with the Polish Kamila Augustyn played in the 1. Bundesliga. Since 2007 she played again at 1. BC Bischmisheim until she moved to BV Gifhorn in the 2010/11 season.

In 2014 Carola Bott moved to 1. BC Wipperfeld, where he played regional league and was promoted to the 2. Bundesliga with the first team. In 2016 she moved on to Bottroper BG and played there again Regionalliga NRW, this time in a relegation battle.

In 2015 she was part of the German team at the European Games in Baku , where she finished 5th in doubles.

Bott became known beyond the badminton sport for her appearance on the field: She was one of the first players who no longer competed in normal badminton clothing, but in skin-tight one-pieces, as is common in women's tennis . Because of this and because of her appearance, she is still often compared to Anna Kurnikowa , who initiated this trend in tennis. She was already in the men's magazine Maxim (September 2004 issue) and received offers from Playboy , which she refused.

In addition to badminton, Bott continues to work in her profession after training as an office clerk.

In her private life, she is in a relationship with the decathlete Michael Schrader, who won the silver medal at the 2013 World Cup in Moscow. She lives with him in Duisburg.
