The Brauhaus Faust KG is in Lower Franconia Miltenberg based brewery . It is located in the historic Schwarzviertel , part of the old town of Miltenberg. A little over 60,000 hl of beer were brewed in 2016.
history
The brewery was founded in 1654 by Kilian Francois Mathieu Servantaine from Suman in the Liège region (today's Belgium ). In 1825 Georg Anton Krug took over the brewery. In 1850 he emigrated to Milwaukee , USA , succeeding his son August Krug , who founded the predecessor company of the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company there. In 1895 the master brewer Johann Adalbert Faust became the sole owner of the brewery. However, the company was renamed from Löwenbrauerei Miltenberg to Brauhaus Faust in July 1993 .
Johannes Faust, the fourth generation of Faust, has been responsible for the brewery since 2020.
Beer production was in 2018 at around 63,000 hecto liters .
