Braunsdorf (Spreenhagen)
Braunsdorf ( Lower Sorbian Brunojce) is a district of Spreenhagen with 252 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019) in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg .

Braunsdorf is located in the " Müggelspree " nature park and is surrounded by numerous biotopes . The Große Fürstenwalder Stadtluch is located southwest of Braunsdorf . Due to its swampy nature, storks , herons and cranes live there .
history
Based on the order of Friedrich the Second , on December 31, 1751, a combing village was established in the town heath of Fürstenwalde , which was later named after its second mayor, Braun. After a two-hour fire in 1833, the village was rebuilt a year later with the help of donations from the city of Fürstenwalde and the surrounding villages.
In the 1960s, due to the straightening of the Oder-Spree Canal not far from Braunsdorf, an island was created which is now used as a weekend settlement.
Attractions
In the center of the village is the Braunsdorf Fountain (donated by the stonemason company Ferch-Struck) with the bronze figure "Kalle Barfuß", which represents a bathing boy.
Not far from the fountain is a memorial for soldiers who fell from Braunsdorf in the First World War .
