The Große Fürstenwalder Stadtluch is a nature reserve in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg . It is located southwest of Braunsdorf and covers around 88 hectares.
It was placed under protection as a botanical reserve as early as 1934. The council of the district of Frankfurt (Oder) confirmed the protection status on July 14, 1956. The district assembly of Frankfurt / Oder established the nature reserve "Großes Fürstenwalder Stadtluch" with a resolution of March 14, 1990 and enlarged the reserve. The resolution came into force on May 16, 1990.
The FFH area "Großes Fürstenwalder Stadtluch" is largely congruent with the nature reserve of the same name. The nature reserve and FFH area are part of the larger nature reserve “Müggelspree-Löcknitzer forest and lake area”.
species
The Große Fürstenwalder Stadtluch, characterized by moors , is home to numerous endangered bird species such as herons , storks and snipe and is a refuge for numerous orchids - and protected plant species such as the king fern , lung gentian or the long-leaved sundew . There are also beavers and otters .
