Break On Through is the fourth studio album by the German singer Jeanette Biedermann . It was released by Universal Records in May 2003 .

background

Break On Through was Biedermann's first album released under the Universal label after she separated from Polydor in 2003 . Despite the change of record label, she continued to work with her previous team. The first single was released on November 3, 2003, Rockin 'on Heaven's Floor . The single immediately rose to number 3 in the German single charts. The album Break On Through is one of Biedermann's most successful with two gold and platinum awards. Due to the great success of the record, the decision was made to go on an extensive European tour. More than 50 cities in over five countries and more than 150,000 concert tickets sold made the album and the tour that went with it a commercial success. The accompanying live DVD was awarded gold. The third single, Hold the Line, was, like Right Now, the official song of the 2004 DTM .

In 2005 Biedermann appeared in the Chinese edition of Wetten, dass ..? With excerpts from her album . on. After she became known through this gig in Asia, the album was released there and an advertising contract with an Asian cosmetics manufacturer followed.

criticism

“The album opens with the tolerable pre-release single 'Rockin' On Heaven's Floor ', and unfortunately that was it with the audible tracks on' Break On Through '. […] The piano intro of 'Hold The Line' is stolen from HIM's' Join Me (in Death) 'and waits with lines that are as flat as they are ingratiating like' Don't be so shy, guy, I stay with you to fulfill your dreams! ' on."
