Undress to the Beat ( German: undress to the beat ) is the seventh studio album by the German singer and actress Jeanette Biedermann . It was released on March 20, 2009 and reached number 13 on the German album charts.

The individual songs on the album were mostly written and produced by Scandinavian musicians. The title track of the album Undress to the Beat was released as a single on February 27, 2009. Unlike its predecessor Naked Truth from 2006, Undress to the Beat consists mainly of dance-pop and electro-pop songs.

Emergence

About the songwriting process, Jeanette Biedermann said :

“When I start writing songs I try not to have anything comparable on my mind because you tend to lean too much on something. I didn't see it or set myself the requirement that it sound like Kylie Minogue. I appreciate her very much and of course she inspires her to do things of her own. Slow for example is one of my favorite songs of hers. Sure, there might be something in the back of the head, but we deliberately didn't stick to Kylie sounds. "

criticism

Undress to the Beat received mostly mixed reviews. Matthias Reichel from CDStarts.de wrote that the album was an attempt to profit from the chart success of other artists such as Kylie Minogue or Lady Gaga , but continued to write:

“In fact, Jeanette Biedermann's supercooled electro sound doesn't look bad at all… Here and there a few useful ideas actually flash up. For example, there is the dance stomper Freak Out , co-written by Tony Kanal (No Doubt) , the Kylie Minogue-like Feline or the futuristic track Material Boy (Don't Look Back) , which is one of the best songs on the album.
