Breaking the Silence is the fourth studio album by the British hard rock band Skin . It was released in 2010 and is the last album released in Europe.
background
Skin broke up in 1998, but got back together in 2009 for an appearance at the Download Festival . The performance was so successful that the group released an acoustic album ("Up Close And Personal") and decided to record a new studio album.
The recordings made it necessary that Dickie Fliszar, who had moved to the USA after the separation , flew in; Andy Robbins traveled to the UK from Ireland to shoot the film. Fliszar and Robbins recorded the drums and bass tracks together , Gray and MacDonald traveled to the studio on weekends off for them and recorded their parts.
"Breaking the Silence" was released without the support of a music label and sold through the band's website. The production also was in the hands of the band, which was assisted by Colin McLeod, who had also worked as a studio and touring musician with the group and set his studio for the recordings.
