The Bredenbek (north German from breed , broad and bek , Bach) is the only tributary of the Rönne and belongs to the river system of the Alster . It rises in Kisdorf in the Segeberg district and flows into the Rönne in Wakendorf II .

The source of the Bredenbek lies in the meadows north of the Gräbenhorst in southern Kisdorf , about 80 meters east of Henstedt-Ulzburg . It flows 1.5 km steadily about 200 m north of the Kisdorf-Henstedt-Ulzburg border to the east until it enters the Segeberger state forest of Endern . It flows through this over a length of 1.3 km; after 700 m it joins a tributary from the southern part of the forest. After it emerges from the forest, it becomes the border river between Kisdorf and Henstedt-Ulzburg for approx. 650 m, while it flows under the Düvelsbarg . Then the Bredenbek flows for about 150 m through Henstedt-Ulzburg municipal area and then becomes the border river between Henstedt-Ulzburg and Wakendorf II for about 350 m. In Wakendorf II it bends to the southeast and flows under Kisdorfer Straße after 225 meters , 500 m then first the Korl-Barmstedt-Weg and then the Spannweg and after another 580 m the Naher Straße . Here it flows after 950 m into the Rönneniederung, part of the Oberalsterniederung nature reserve . There it turns south and after 660 meters flows into the Rönne , which forms the border river between Wakendorf II and Nahe . The Rönne flows through the Wakendorfer Moor and flows into the Alster 600 m further on near Naherfurth .
The Bredenbek is not navigable. In total, it crosses eleven streets and larger paths; A total of eleven smaller streams and ditches flow into them.
