The coroner is a 12-part crime series that was broadcast in two seasons in 2005 and 2008 in the evening program of RTL . Studio Hamburg GmbH was the producer .

Dr. Hanna Wildbauer from Bavaria works at the Forensic Institute in Hamburg. Unambiguous cases are suspect to her, only complicated causes of death challenge her criminalistic instinct and let her flourish. Her colleagues include Dr. Blumenthal and Dr. Horst. From season 2 she works with Chief Detective Jan Petersen from the Hamburg police.

Others

The first season with only four episodes ran weekly on a Tuesday in October 2005, season two didn't start until three years later, although it was shot in early 2007. It also ran at weekly intervals, this time the transmission day was Thursday. If the audience ratings for the first four episodes did not meet the expectations of the program managers, season 2 was even less well received.

At the start of the first season, the main actress Lisa Fitz described her role as a "successful mix of 'Schimanski' and 'Bulle von Tölz'" in an interview with Berliner Kurier . Before filming began, she received insight into the work of forensic medicine from Wolfgang Eisenmenger , and two other medical experts were on hand to assist the film team during the filming.
