Peter Ketnath
Peter Ketnath (born June 6, 1974 in Munich ) is a German actor .
Life
education
After graduating from high school , Peter Ketnath attended the “Zinner Studio” drama school in Munich and made his debut at smaller off-theaters . He later qualified in New York at HB Studio ( Herbert Berghof Studio ) and in Prague with Ivan Vyskočil . In the late 1990s he studied film studies , philosophy and psychology at the Free University of Berlin .
Career
At the age of 20 he was discovered for the cinema by Joseph Vilsmaier and, alongside Nina Hoss , he was cast by Sigi Sommer for the leading role of Leo Knie in the literary film And Nobody Weeps After (1996) . This was followed by engagements in television films, series and series for various German and international broadcasters. He had leading roles in the series Klinikum Berlin Mitte (Pro7) and The Forensic Medicine (RTL). In the three-parter Die Manns (2001) he played alongside Armin Mueller-Stahl , directed by Heinrich Breloer ; he embodied Thomas Mann's "last love", the waiter Franz Westermeier.
After working in Hamburg and Barcelona , Ketnath also worked temporarily in Brazil . Among other things, he played the leading role in the movie Cinema, Aspirins and vultures by Marcelo Gomes, which premiered and won awards at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival . Ketnath plays the aspirin dealer and projectionist Johann Hohenfels, who traveled to the Brazilian hinterland in the 1940s. The movie Deserto Feliz (2007) by Paulo Caldas premiered at the 57th Berlinale in 2007 in the Panorama series . In 2014, Peter Ketnath appeared in Brazil in the film Os Homens sao de Marte ..e pra la que eu vou , the most popular cinema film of the year in Brazil.
In the cinema film Die Geschichte vom Brandner Kaspar (2008), again with director Joseph Vilsmaier, Peter Ketnath played one of the leading roles alongside Franz Xaver Kroetz , the poacher Toni, who loses his lover Nannerl ( Lisa Maria Potthoff ).
Since November 2009 Ketnath can be seen on ZDF in the crime series SOKO Stuttgart as chief detective Joachim “Jo” Stoll.
Peter Ketnath lives alternately in Berlin , Munich and Stuttgart .
