Klinikum Berlin Mitte - Life in Readiness is a German hospital series that was produced by Phoenix Film and has been broadcast on ProSieben and later on Sat.1 since February 22, 2000 . It is based on the American television series Emergency Room . After only three seasons, it was discontinued in 2002.

Klinikum Berlin Mitte - Life in readiness presents the heroes of everyday hospital life . The young doctors fight every day for the lives of a wide variety of patients. It is not always easy to reconcile work and private life.

The focus is on the emergency room of the fictional hospital, in which Dr. Claudia Jungblut and Dr. Jens Leyendecker are on duty as emergency doctors for the entire duration of the series. From the 2nd episode onwards, they will be reinforced by Daniel Thies, a doctor in the internship. After his contract expired, Thies continued to work in the clinic free of charge.

For the retiring at the end of the first season, Dr. Andreas Hauff, who is leaving the clinic for private reasons after his wife Susanne has been shot, will be followed at the beginning of the 2nd season by Dr., who previously worked as a senior physician at Marienkrankenhaus.
