Rita Lengyel

Rita Lengyel (born October 23, 1973 in Düsseldorf ) is a German actress and director .

Life

Lengyel grew up in Cologne , Budapest and Berlin . In 1989, director Oliver Hirschbiegel cast Lengyel, who was just 16 years old, for a role in his film Der Eistaucher . A year later followed a leading role in Klaus Emmerich's film Pizza Colonia . Lengyel took acting classes in Cologne and Los Angeles . Since 1990 she has appeared in various TV films, TV series and series. She played leading roles in cinema productions such as Mortal Beauty (2001; Director: Markus Goller ), Berlin Calling (2008; Director: Hannes Stöhr ) and Global Player (2013; Director: Hannes Stöhr).

In 1995 she founded the Sound Source GbR recording studio together with her brother . From 2003 to 2010 she studied directing at the HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg . She completed her directing studies in March 2010 with the full-length documentary film Mein Ungarn in Berlin (2011) with a diploma. For her directorial work Berlin Budapest , a short film , she received the DEFA Foundation Award in 2007 .

Rita Lengyel lives in Berlin .
