Am Bredtchen is a location in the north of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is at an altitude of 251  m above sea level. NHN on Hainstrasse in the middle of the residential area Nevigeser Strasse in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district . Neighboring locations are Amschlag , Holländische Heide , Schützenhof , Eschenbeek , Lehmbruch , Dreckloch and Kuckelsberg .

To the north of the village is the evangelical cemetery of the same name, which was laid out towards the end of the 19th century and has a neoclassical cemetery chapel from 1882.

history

The local situation emerged from a Kotten , which as a d. board on the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715.

In 1832 Am Bredtchen belonged to the Katernberger Rotte of the rural outskirts of the parish and the city of Elberfeld . The place, which was also categorized as Kotten according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , was designated as auf der Bredt and at that time owned a residential house and an agricultural building. At that time, 18 residents lived in the village, three of them Catholic and 15 Protestant. No population is given for 1815/16.
