Holländische Heide is a location in the north of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is at an altitude of 257  m above sea level. NHN on the street of the same name in the middle of the residential area Nevigeser Straße in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district . Neighboring locations are Acker , Amschlag , Schützenhof , Lehmbruch , Dreckloch , Hölle , Kuckelsberg and Am Bredtchen immediately to the east .

history

The location arose from a Kotten , which was mentioned in 1659 as the Dutch heather . It can be assumed that this designation refers to an owner of this name or to an owner from Holland . The Kotten is listed as H. Heide on the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715.

In 1832, Holländische Heide belonged to the Katernberger Rotte of the rural outskirts of the parish and the city of Elberfeld . The location, categorized as a craftsman's apartment according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , was designated as an on the Dutch Heath and at that time had four residential buildings and four agricultural buildings (the building shown was demolished in December 2013). At that time, 43 residents lived in the village, 13 of them Catholic and 30 Protestant. No population is given for 1815/16.
