Acker is a locality in the north of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is at an altitude of 263  m above sea level. NHN on Katernberger Strasse Strasse in the west of the Nevigeser Strasse residential area in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district . Today's street Am Acker leads away from the original settlement area to Herbert's Katernberg . Other neighboring locations are Am Baum , In den Birken , Am Luhnberg , Am Rohm , Am Steinberg , Holländische Heide and Kuckelsberg .

history

The location arose from a Kotten , which was mentioned in a document as early as 1644. The Kotten is recorded as in the field on the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715.

In 1832 Acker belonged to the Katernberger Rotte of the rural outskirts of the parish and the city of Elberfeld . The place, also categorized as Kotten according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , was designated as am Acker and at that time had three residential houses and two agricultural buildings. At that time 50 people lived in the place, eleven of them Catholic and 39 Protestant faith. No population is given for 1815/16.
