Bremenried ( Westallgäuerisch Bräm e rierd ) is a village of the market Weiler-Simmerberg in the district of Lindau (Lake Constance) and part of the Westallgäu region . The place is located on the outskirts of Weiler im Allgäu .

history

In 1557 one was leprosarium for the courts Kellhöfe and Altenburg on the Rothach built. It served as the poor house of the Leprosy Foundation until the 19th century. In 1717 the Wendelins Chapel, which belongs to the Leprosy Foundation, was consecrated in the village. In 1863 Alois Rädler opened a weaving and spinning mill on the Rothach. In 1867 another followed with Kiene & Forster . Both factories became part of the Stromeyer company by 1889 . The local dairy was founded in 1897 . In 1974 the weaving mill with over 160 employees was closed.
