Siebers and Johanna spring

The “Siebers Bad” in 1637, after Gabriel Bucelinus

In 1428, the Siebersquelle belonging to the Lords of Weiler zu Altenburg was opened up. Ownership of the spring often changed between Upper Austria and Weingarten Monastery . In 1628 the source was re-recorded, the bathhouse was rebuilt and an inn was built. In 1923 the Siebersquelle was bought by the Ambos family, from then on the water was bottled and the spring was named Johanna-Quelle. In 1936 the Zinth family - owners of the Post Brewery Weiler - took over half of the spring. The well house, built in 1963, now serves as a well museum. The entire source has been owned by the Post Brewery and Siebers-Quelle Anton Zinth GmbH & Co. KG since 1989 .
