history
Administrative history
Today's municipal area has belonged to the Łódź Voivodeship since 1945 . It came to the Płock Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998 . The powiat was dissolved during this time.
After Żychlin received city rights in 1924 , the seat of the rural community was moved to the village of Dobrzelin two years later. The rural community Dobrzelin was in several 1954 Gromadas converted. On January 1, 1973, the rural community was newly created. The municipality and the Gmina Dobrzelin were merged in 1990/1991 to form an urban and rural municipality. This came to the Łódź Voivodeship in 1999 as it is today.
Economic history
The two sugar factories , of which Dobrzelin has been in operation for more than 160 years, were important for the development of the town and community . After the closure of the Walentywów factory in 1921, Polskie Zakłady Elektrotechniczne was established there, an important company in the electrical industry, which today operates under the name Emit (Cantoni Group) .
