Brenda Matthews

Brenda Matthews ( Brenda Patricia Matthews; born February 19, 1949 in Auckland ) is a former New Zealand hurdler and sprinter .

In 1966, she was seventh over 80 m hurdles at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston and was eliminated over 100 yards in the semi-finals.

In the 1972 Olympics she reached over 100 m the quarterfinals and was eliminated over 100 m hurdles in the lead.

In 1974 she was at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch seventh over 100 m hurdles and fifth in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

She was New Zealand champion three times over 100 yards or 100 m (1966, 1968, 1972) and five times over 80 m hurdles or 100 m hurdles (1966-1968, 1972, 1974).
