Brendan Anthony Moloney (born January 18, 1989 in Killarney ) is an Irish football player who has been under contract with Bristol City since 2013 .
Athletic career
Brendan Moloney moved from Ireland to the youth academy of Nottingham Forest in the 2006/07 season . In March 2007, 18-year-old Maloney made his debut for the Nottingham first team . Forest played at this time in Football League One and at the end of the season only narrowly missed promotion with fourth place and the subsequent out in the play-off semifinals. Coach Colin Calderwood attested that he had a fantastic talent, but did not use him a second time until the end of the season. In the coming season he played two games for Forest before he was loaned to fourth division Chesterfield FC in January 2008 .
Nottingham Forest had made it to the Football League Championship on his return , which did not increase his chances of playing. He was therefore loaned to Rushden & Diamonds for a month at the beginning of the season . By the end of the season he came for Forest on at least twelve appearances in the English second division.
At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he moved on loan to Forests city rivals Notts County , where he was able to score one goal in 18 games. On January 27, 2010, the next temporary club change followed, Forest loaned him to Scunthorpe United until the end of the season , where he made his debut for the Irons on the same day in a 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday .
On January 25, 2013, Moloney moved to Bristol City .
