Brentina is the daughter of Brentano II, the Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2003. Brentano sired several well-known horses, such as Barclay and Barclay II, Os Dea II, he is the dam sire of Poetin . Brentina is a full sister of Barclay II.
Sports career
Brentina was sold to Peggy Thomas at the auction in Verden in October 1994 for 150,000 German marks. It was originally intended as a horse for Peggy Thomas, but the young mare Thomas threw off and was then taken over by McDonald.
Brentina was very successful in dressage with Debbie McDonald . They participated in the World Championships in 2002 and 2006 and in the Olympic Games in 2004. The two were the first American couple to win a dressage world cup final. They won the World Cup final of the 2002/2003 season in Gothenburg and achieved 78.890%
Brentina was retired from the sport on April 17, 2009 at the Las Vegas World Cup.
Breeding career
Berntina became the mother of two Hendst foals in the USA via embryo transfer, Dillinger (2010) from Damsey and Brighton from Kingston
