The Nations Cup (FEI Dressage Nations Cup) is a dressage tournament series held by the FEI since 2013 . The tournament series consists of several nations' prizes, which are held as part of international CDIO tournaments.
mode
All CDIO tournaments are part of the Nations Cup, insofar as Grand Prix level tests are carried out during this. While it was up to the organizers in the first season whether they choose the Grand Prix de Dressage or the Grand Prix Freestyle as a Nations Cup test, more complex modes are now used. The results of two, three or even four tests are included in the Nations Cup ratings.
The number of participating teams is not limited. Each team comprises three or four riders from one nation, of which the best three results are used in the team evaluation. While the percentages of the participants were included in the result up to 2017, this changed for the 2018 season. Since then, the rider's placement has determined the number of points for the team result: one point for first place, two for second, etc. Thus it is no longer the team with the highest result that wins the Nations Cup, but the team with the lowest.
At each Nations Cup, points are awarded which are included in the overall ranking. With this mode of competition, the Nations Cup is based on the existing Nations Cup series in show jumping and eventing.
Scoring points
The evaluation points in the tournaments of the series are awarded based on the placement and the announcement of the tournament:
1st place | 2nd place | 3rd place | 4th Place | 5th place | 6th place | 7th place | 8th place | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Points (CDIO 3 *) | 10 | 8th | 7th | 6th | 5 | 4th | 3 | 2 |
Points (CDIO 4 *) | 12 | 10 | 9 | 7th | 6th | 5 | 4th | 3 |
Points (CDIO 5 *) | 15th | 13 | 11 | 9 | 7th | 6th | 5 | 4th |
In the event of a tie at the end of the season, the team that was in first place in a special stage is in front. Each team can score points in all special stages.
