Brett Bellemore (born June 25, 1988 in Windsor , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with Kunlun Red Star in the Continental Hockey League and in 2017 played for his farm team KRS Heilongjiang in the Wysschaja Hockey League .
Career
Bellemore was at the beginning of his career between 2005 and 2009 with the Plymouth Whalers , who pulled him 233rd in the twelfth round of the OHL Priority Selection 2004 , in the junior league Ontario Hockey League and achieved the best Plus in 2007 / Minus balance of the OHL. However, he came from the 2007/08 season to some assignments with cooperation partner Albany River Rats from the higher-class American Hockey League . There he was part of the regular squad in the 2009/10 season and completed his first full professional season.
In the summer of 2008, the Canadian signed a three-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes , who had previously secured the transfer rights to the defensive player as part of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft . In the following two seasons, Bellemore was initially only used by the Charlotte Checkers farm team in the American Hockey League , before he played eight games in the NHL for the first time in the 2012/13 season and has been an integral part of the NHL squad since the 2013/14 season Hurricanes is.
After seven years in the organization of the Hurricanes, he received no new contract after the 2014/15 season, so he joined the Providence Bruins from the AHL in October 2015 . In 2016, Kunlun Red Star , the first Chinese team in the Continental Hockey League , signed him.
