Brett Patrick Dalton (born January 7, 1982 in San José , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Brett Dalton was born in January 1982 in San José, California. He made his acting debut in 2007 in the television film Nurses , in which he played Doctor Kurt Taylor . He then decided to study at Yale University , where he received an MFA in 2011. In 2012, he returned to acting and embodied in an episode starring the Phillip Gibson in the CBS - crime series Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York . This was followed by a role in Army Wives and in the TV movie Tom Hanks: The Lincoln Conspiracy as Robert Todd Lincoln .

His breakthrough came in 2013 with the lead role of agent Grant Ward in the ABC television series Marvel's Agents of SHIELD , which is based on the Marvel Comics .
