Brid Brennan

Brid Brennan (born 1955 in Belfast ) is an Irish actress .

Life and accomplishments

Briod Brennan made her debut as an actress in Dublin , where she appeared at the Abbey Theater and the Gate Theater. Her first film role she played on the side of Nigel Terry and Helen Mirren in the fantasy film Excalibur from 1981. In the Irish drama Anne Devlin (1984) she took the title role.

Brennan starred in the play Lughnasa - Time of Dance by Brian Friel in 1991 and 1992 . For this role she received the Tony Award in 1992 . In the film adaptation of the play Tanz in die Freiheit (1998) she played alongside Meryl Streep and won the Irish Film and Television Award for this role in 1999 . The role in the play The Little Foxes , which was staged in the Donmar Warehouse theater in London , earned her a nomination for the Laurence Olivier Award in 2002 .
