Brigitte is a French indie-folk duo founded in 2008 by Sylvie Hoarau and Aurélie Maggiori .
Band history
The duo was founded in 2008. Sylvie Horeau was previously the singer of the rock band Vendetta and Aurélie Maggiori had released several solo albums under the name Mayane Delem. Since their sound should go in the retro direction, they adapted the band name as a reference to famous "Brigittes" such as Brigitte Bardot , Brigitte Fontaine and Brigitte Lahaie . In 2010 they made their debut with a cover version of Michel Jonasz 's song Les Vacances au Bord de la Mer for the film soundtrack of the French comedy Thelma, Louise et Chantal . They were then signed by Wagram Records.
In 2010 their first EP Battez-vous was released , which contained an idiosyncratic cover version of the song Ma Benz by Suprême NTM . The first studio album Et vous, tu m'aimes? was released in 2011 and reached number 14 in the French charts.
Encore followed in 2012, but it went largely unnoticed. The album A bouche que veux-tu , released in 2014, achieved double platinum status in France. The album Nues was released in 2017 . The album was awarded gold in 2018.
Her last album so far, the acoustic album Toutes Nues , was released in 2019.
