Brigitte Gapais-Dumont (born April 25, 1944 in Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry , † November 29, 2018 ) was a French foil fencer .

successes

Brigitte Gapais-Dumont took part in four Olympic Games . 1964 in Tokyo , she was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the individual competition, with the team she finished sixth. Four years later in Mexico City she just missed a medal win in both competitions with fourth place. In 1972 she was again sixth with the team in Munich , while she reached the semi-finals in the individual. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal she reached the team competition unbeaten in the final for the gold medal, which the Soviet Union won 9-2, so that Gapais-Dumont together with Brigitte Latrille-Gaudin , Claudette Herbster-Josland , Christine Muzio and Véronique Trinquet die Won silver medal. At world championships she won bronze with the team in Moscow in 1966 and in Ankara in 1970 .
