Brigitte Gullath

Brigitte Gullath (born July 20, 1953 - † October 7, 2012 ) was a German ancient historian and librarian .

Brigitte Gullath studied history , politics and German . In 1981, she was at the University of Munich in Siegfried Lauffer with a thesis on research into the history of Boeotia in the time of Alexander and the Successors to the Ancient History PhD . This was followed by training as a library trainee . Since 1984 Gullath was in the acquisitions department of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munichactive. In 1995 she switched to the library's manuscript department at her own request, where she had taken over the management of the manuscripts and usage department from 2005 onwards . Here she made a great contribution to research documentation and new acquisitions. She supervised facsimile projects and exhibitions and wrote various articles for catalogs. She also worked on commentary volumes.

Gullath died surprisingly at the age of 59 after a long illness.
