Brigitte Huber
Brigitte Huber (born 1964 in Trostberg ) is a German journalist and non-fiction writer . She is editor-in-chief of the magazines Brigitte , Barbara , Guido and Gala .
Life
Huber passed the Abitur and shortly afterwards became the mother of her first son. She studied modern German literature , English and communication studies . During her studies she wrote for the Trostberger Tagblatt .
She broke off her studies and completed her journalistic training at the German School of Journalism from 1986 . After graduating, she worked for the Münchner Abendzeitung for four years . She then wrote for the women's magazine Freund and wrote advisory literature . In 1998 she was appointed deputy editor-in-chief of her friend . She also held this position at the Burda magazine Wellfit .
After working as a freelance journalist for a year and a half, she became Brigitte's deputy editor-in-chief in 2003 . From 2009 to September 2012, Huber was editor-in-chief together with Andreas Lebert and was responsible for both the print edition and the online presence. Stephan Schäfer followed Lebert as co-editor-in-chief until he moved to the publishing board of Gruner + Jahr in April 2013 . Since then she has been directing the Brigitte Group's publications on her own . In addition, she became editor-in-chief of Barbara magazine in 2015, editor-in- chief of Guido magazine in 2018 and editor-in-chief of Gala magazine in 2019 .
Brigitte Huber was married to the journalist Peter Lewandowski .
She is the mother of two sons, whom she raised alone for many years, and advocates the quota for women .
