Bring en hei (standard German Bring him home ) is a song by the Swiss pop musician Baschi from 2006. As a single, the song sold over 60,000 times and reached double platinum.

The piece, which in an updated version was the official song of Switzerland for the European Football Championship 2008 , was adapted by Oliver Pocher for Germany and by Mario Lang for Austria. It describes a fan's passion for football.

Bring en Hei was written in 2006 by Roman Camenzind , Baschi and Hank Merk as the official title song for the first season of the docu-soap Der Match on SF two . It shares similarities with Three Lions ( aka Football's Coming Home ) with a simple and singable chorus .

Versions

Bring en hot (Baschi)

In the version for the European Football Championship 2008, the line Referee, i know where dis car stoht (referee I know where your car is) was removed under pressure from UEFA , but this line was already controversial on the part of producers in the first version. Otherwise the lyrics stayed the same, the music was mixed more towards house .

The song was played during the 2008 European Football Championship as the last song from the kick-off at Swiss games in Swiss stadiums. In Switzerland, the song entered the charts at number 2 in 2006 and reached number 1 four weeks later, which it held for three weeks. After being in the top 10 for eleven weeks, it then continuously fell back and was no longer in the top 100 at times. Due to the length of time the different versions stay in the charts, the song is the most successful Swiss single in the charts. The new version has meanwhile reached the top of the Swiss charts again.

Bring him home (Oliver Pocher)

The music video for the adaptation by Oliver Pocher alludes to various celebrities in football. Baschi was ambivalent about Pocher's adaptation. In Germany Bringt him home rose to number 13 in the German single charts and reached number 6 in the week of the final.

In Austria this version reached number 57 in the charts.

Bring him home (Mario Lang)

On April 18, 2008, Baschi performed with Mario Lang at the Amadeus Austrian Music Award and interpreted a mixed version of the EM song with him. The version Bring him home by Mario Lang occurs as the theme song for the ORF-1 telecast the match in the footsteps of the original. The Austrian version Bring him home rose to 47th place and has meanwhile reached 2nd place.

The Austrian version also ran shortly before the start of the game in the Austrian stadiums.
