Brione (in the Trentino dialect: Briü , German outdated: Breon ) is a fraction of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Borgo Chiese in the province of Trento , region of Trentino-South Tyrol . Brione was an independent municipality until 2015.

location

The place is located about 45 kilometers west-southwest of Trento at an altitude of 893  m slm on the orographic right side of the valley in the Valle del Chiese, through which the Chiese flows .

history

The municipality of Brione was established in 1920 and lasted until 1928 when the town was attached to the municipality of Condino . In 1946, Brione was detached from Condino and was an independent municipality until 2015. On January 1, 2016, the municipalities of Brione, Condino and Cimego formed the new municipality of Borgo Chiese , which belongs to the valley community Comunità delle Giudicarie . At the time of the dissolution, the municipality of Brione had 121 inhabitants.
