Broich (with Rhenish Dehnungs-i , pronounced Brooch ) is a Honschaft (district) of the district Rheindahlen-Land in the city district West (until October 22, 2009 Rheindahlen ) in Mönchengladbach .
geography
Broich is located on the western outskirts of Mönchengladbach to the city limits of the districts of Heinsberg and Wegberg . The Knippertzbach flows through Broich . Rheindahlen, the main town of the Honschaft, is about one kilometer as the crow flies in a south-easterly direction. Broich mainly consists of two streets (Rochusstraße and Broicher Straße). The village is around 1.5 kilometers long in north-south expansion.

Parish
The church was built in 1904/05. The parish of the same name, St. Rochus, with an attached cemetery, parish hall and primary school is located on Rochusstrasse. The pastor of the parish is Harald Josephs. Broich is a chapel community . On Broicher Strasse, coming from Rheindahlen, there is a prayer house on the right-hand side, enclosed in a larger chapel property . The St. Sebastian chapel was built in 1759 and is the oldest in the parish of St. Rochus in the Rheindahlen parish of St. Helena . She stands on 2 June 1987 under monument protection . The framework is made with white plastered partitions. The chapel has a hipped tiled roof with a ridge turret and a bell. The inscription PLEASE, SO YOU WILL BE RECEIVED is embedded in the lintel . The chapel had to be relocated in 1954 due to the widening of Broicher Straße. The last repair work on the chapel took place in 2000.

The sports and leisure facilities consist of the club area of SC Broich- Peel and a playground . The club has around 400 members and, in addition to football teams of various classes, also consists of a popular sports team with activities for the whole family. The first soccer team of the club plays in the district league C Mönchengladbach.
