Bronnen is a district of the municipality of Achstetten in the Biberach district in Baden-Württemberg . The village is located about one kilometer southeast of Achstetten and can be reached via county road 7519.

history

In 1157 the place was first mentioned as "Brunnon". Alemannic row graves were discovered in the west of Bronnen . A noble family von Bronnen has been handed down from 1265 to 1356.

Presumably as early as the 14th century the village belonged to the Lords of Freyberg and was part of the Achstetten rule . After this line of the von Freyberg family died out in 1639, the heirs sold the place to the Barons von Räcknitz in 1684.

In 1710 Bronnen was acquired by the Wiblingen Monastery . In 1685 which received Kloster Gutenzell the blood ban as an imperial fief , but gave it in 1769 to the monastery Wiblingen on. Due to the secularization of the monastery, Bronnen became part of Bavaria in 1803 and Württemberg in 1806 , where the place was subordinated to the Oberamt Biberach in 1807 and the Oberamt Wiblingen in 1810 .

During the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , the formerly independent municipality of Bronnen was incorporated into the municipality of Achstetten on November 1, 1972.

coat of arms

Description of the coat of arms : "In a split shield above in blue a burning golden candle and a golden abbot's staff, below in gold a blue village fountain."

Meaning of the coat of arms: “The candle is the attribute of St. Blaise, the church patron of Bronnen. The abbot's staff should remind of the relationships between the place and various monasteries. The lower jurisdiction had been held by the Wiblingen Monastery since 1710, the higher jurisdiction was held by the Salem Monastery and from this the Heggbach Monastery as an afterfief. The church in Bronnen was incorporated into the monastery of Sankt Blasien in the Middle Ages. The village fountain points to the place name as a talking coat of arms. The colors gold and blue are taken from the coat of arms of the Sankt Blasien monastery. "(Text from the municipality of Achstetten)
