Gert Lindemann

Gert Lindemann (born October 4, 1947 in Wuppertal ) is a German lawyer and politician (CDU). From January 2011 to February 19, 2013, he was Lower Saxony's Minister of Agriculture . Before that, he was State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection from November 2005 to January 2010.

Life

After his military service , Lindemann studied law at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg , at the University of Oxford and at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel from 1970 to 1974 . He passed his first state examination in 1974 and the second state examination in 1977.

From 1977 to 1979 Lindemann was a judge in the higher regional court district of Celle . From 1979 on he was initially personal advisor to the Lower Saxony Minister for Food, Agriculture and Forests, Gerhard Glup , from 1981 Head of Division at the Lower Saxony Representation in Bonn and from 1983 to 2003 Head of Division and Department in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forests .

From 2003 to 2005 he was State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Agriculture until he became State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection in November 2005. Following the move of Federal Minister Horst Seehofer to Bavaria , he temporarily headed the official affairs of the ministry from October 27 to October 30, 2008 until the new Federal Minister Ilse Aigner took office.

In January 2010, Federal Minister of Agriculture Aigner dismissed Lindemann and replaced him with the previous President of the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food , Robert Kloos .

Lindemann was sworn in as the new Minister of Agriculture of Lower Saxony on January 19, 2011 and succeeded Astrid Grotelüschen, who had resigned .

Lindemann is married, has three children and lives in Hohenhameln ( Peine district ).
