Bror Gunnar Östman (born October 10, 1928 in Själevad , † April 23, 1992 in Örnsköldsvik ) was a Swedish ski jumper .

Career

Östman achieved his first success by winning the Swedish championship in 1951. At the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo , Norway , he reached 32nd place from the normal hill after jumping to 66.5 m and falling at 65 m in the second round. At the Swedish Championships in 1953 he again won the gold medal. A year later, Östman competed for the first time in a world championship and won the bronze medal on the large hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1954 in Falun behind the two Finns Matti Pietikäinen and Veikko Heinonen . In 1955 and 1956 he was again Swedish champion. Östman played his last international tournament when he took part in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo . After jumps of 75.5 and 76.5 m, Östman reached 14th place on the normal hill.
