Bror Chail (Hebrew ברור חיל) is a kibbutz in the south of Israel . It is located near Sderot . The western neighboring kibbutz Or HaNer has a common bus stop with Bror Chail on the road from Be'er Sheva to Ashkelon . The kibbutz had 986 inhabitants in 2018.
history
Bror Chail was founded by Egyptian Jews on April 10, 1948 on land owned by the Jewish National Fund . One of the founders was Elijahu Mojal , who later became a member of the Knesset . Later, mainly Jews from Brazil came to Bror Chail, who still make up the majority of the population today. Bror Chail was the only Jewish village established between the UN Partition Plan for Palestine and Israel's Declaration of Independence .
