The balashi NV (BNB), located in Oranjestad is the brewery on the island of Aruba . The name Balashi means “by the sea” in Papiamento. The location of the brewery is also called Balashi.

The brewery

The brewery building was owned by MetaCorp. Construction erected, the brewing equipment was supplied by the Hamburg company Brewtech GmbH. In May 1999, the production of the Balashi lager, developed by the German master brewer Klaus Eckert, began . Balashi beer is the first locally produced beer in Aruba and is also exported to Curaçao and Bonaire .

The beers are brewed with German malt and German hops from the Hallertau. The annual production is at a maximum of 55,000 hectoliters per year. The brewery consists of 3 filling lines that were built and put into operation by Krones in Neutraubling. The Balashi beer won GOLD medals in Brussels from the Selecion du monde in 2001/2004.

In 2002, Brouwerij Nacional Balashi began producing and bottling Coca-Cola and other non-alcoholic beverages with a capacity of 120,000 hl / year.
