Company history
In 1870, George Garvin Brown founded a whiskey distillery in Louisville . Only two years later did his partner Forman join. Brown-Forman Deutschland GmbH, based in Hamburg, is a subsidiary of Brown-Forman Ltd. and is one of the leading suppliers of whiskey, vodka, liqueur and tequila in Germany.
Brown-Forman entered the German market in 1996. The brands were initially distributed through partners. In October 2010, Brown-Forman founded its own marketing and sales company in Hamburg. The company has been an independent German GmbH since May 2012.
