Bruce Russett

Bruce Martin Russett (born January 26, 1935 in North Adams , Massachusetts ) is an American political scientist .

Life

Russett studied political economy at Williams College (Bachelor, 1956) and Economics at King's College , Cambridge (Diploma, 1957). His Ph.D. he made 1961 in political science at Yale University . He then went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , where he became a professor. He is currently the Dean Acheson Professor of Political Science and Professor of International and Area Studies at Yale University. From 1972 to 2009 he was editor of the Journal of Conflict Resolution . Russett was visiting professor at various international universities (New York, Tel Aviv, Harvard, Brussels, London etc.) From 1983 to 1984 he was President of the International Studies Association . He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and an honorary doctorate from Uppsala University . He received several grants and wrote numerous books.
