The Brucker Hochanger is 1308  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Styrian foothills . Along with Rennfeld and Madereck, it is one of the three local mountains of the district capital Bruck an der Mur .

geography

The landscape of the summit region is dominated by an alpine meadow landscape. Immediately close to the summit is the Hochanger mountain shelter belonging to the Naturfreunde Bruck an der Mur.

Approach

The most common approach is from the north via the Weitental, either via the Gasthaus Schweizeben or the Zöttelsteig. From the east you can climb the mountain from Zlatten , either via the Kohlmitscher Steig or through the Zlattengraben. Another possible starting point is the Eisenpass ( 1183  m ) southwest of the summit.

Long- distance hikers on the Central Alpine Trail usually spend the night in the Hochanger Schutzhaus before the long transition to the Schutzhaus in Gleinalmsattel.

The mountain is a popular hiking and mountain bike destination in the region. At the foot of the Hochanger there is the Weitental nature conservation center with a wildlife sanctuary that is well worth seeing.
