The Hochlantsch ( 1720 m above sea level ) is the highest mountain in the Grazer Bergland , a sub-group of the peripheral mountains east of the Mur according to the Alpine Club division . To the north the mountain drops steeply into the Lantsch walls . Due to the good view and the easy accessibility, the Hochlantsch is a popular destination in the vicinity of the city of Graz .
The easiest ascent takes about two hours from the Teichalm . Another variant of Mixnitz leads through the water-bearing Bärenschützklamm . From the Zirbisegger inn ( accessible by car from Breitenau ) the Naturfreunde via ferrata leads through the rocky north flank to the summit. The Gasthaus zum Steirischen Jokl and the pilgrimage church Schüsserlbrunn are in the immediate vicinity .
