description

The retaining wall together and fountain under monument protection standing Villa is a neo -construction of Dresdner Nicolai School . The building is located slightly above a public parking area on Meißner Strasse, east of the Saxony State Theater , the sculpture park, between Landhaus Schuchstrasse 2 in the west and Villa Glückauf on the right. This park area was created from the gardens of the three villas originally in the south.

The former villa is a symmetrical plastered building with five to two window axes. A flat hipped roof sits on top . The two long sides, the front side facing Meißner Straße and the back of the building, have cornices, in addition there are stucco ornaments and elaborate sandstone walls around the windows, which are accompanied by sills on figural consoles and straight roofs, on the upper floor with console friezes. Medallions with figure motifs can be seen above the two outer upper floor windows.

In front of the three central window axes on the front side there is an arbor on pillars on the outside and columns on the inside. In front of this a flight of stairs leads to the garden. Above the arbor, the exit from the upper floor is formed by an elaborate sandstone triplet window with a central triangular gable roof. Except for the rectangular windows, this resembles the “ triumphal arch motif with aedicula ” of the neo-renaissance villa at Gohliser Straße 8 .

In front of the outside staircase to the garden and above the quarry stone retaining wall is the listed fountain bowl.

history

In 1880 the property (Niederlößnitz cat. No. 1D, Dresdnerstrasse) belonged to a reindeer HF Loeser. The villa was built around 1880 or before 1894.

In 1939 the Radebeul branch of the Dresden Employment Office was located there, as well as some welfare offices and the school dental clinic .
