Player career

society

The defensive midfielder Akrapović moved in 1988 from his youth club NK Čelik Zenica to Germany, where he initially played under class at SV Arminia Hannover , Göttingen 05 and TuS Celle .

In 1992 Akrapović moved to the second division VfL Wolfsburg and became a regular there straight away. After 79 games for the Wolves, he went to 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 1994 , where he played 97 second division games in the following three years.

After Akrapović missed promotion to the Bundesliga with Mainz in 1997 , he switched to the then ambitious tennis Borussia Berlin club , which wanted to move up to the Bundesliga with numerous prominent newcomers. This venture failed three years later when the license was refused. Nevertheless, Akrapović played first class as a regular at Energie Cottbus from 2000 . After 60 games in the first two Bundesliga years of Cottbus, Akrapović lost his regular place and in 2002 moved to the regional division FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . There he was struggling with injuries and was only on the field nine times. In the following season he went to league rivals Kickers Offenbach , where he was a regular player in the following two seasons and completed 55 games. After the end of his engagement in Offenbach, he returned to Arminia Hannover.
